Fe3O4 (inorganic compounds) is chemically made of Fe3O4. Fe3O4 is sometimes called magnetic iron dioxide due to its magnetic black crystal. This isn’t ferrous iron metaferrite [FeO2(2)2] so it can’t be classified alongside iron oxide (Fe2O3). But it could be called ferrous oxide. Iron oxide is mixed with iron dioxide (FeO*Fe2O3). This substance is not soluble in water or alkaline solutions. It can also be insoluble in organic solvents, such as ether. It cannot be dispersed in acid solutions. If the air is damp, natural ferricoxide will easily transform into iron oxide (Fe2O3). It’s used as a colorant and polishing agent.

It involves the application of an alkaline-oxidizing mixture that creates the blue-black (or dark Blue Fe3O4) coat on steel surfaces. This is a coating that provides beauty and protection against corrosion.
