Aluminum boride AlB2 (or AlB2), is a binary compound made from aluminum and boren. Normal temperature and pressure make it a reddish solid. The surface gloss of the material is lost when it’s heated. It’s stable in cold dilute acid. However, it will decompose in hot hydrochloric or nitric. Mixing fine powders made of aluminum and/or boron and heating them after reacting.
