Tantalum Sheets is an industrial metal used for a wide range of applications. It is commonly used in high temperature containers and pressure vessels. Other applications include heat exchangers, aircraft, and surgical instruments.

Tantalum sheet is available in a variety of forms, including rods, blanks, blocks, and wire. Some manufacturers also offer tantalum alloy sheets. This material is very resistant to oxidation, is chemically stable, and is corrosion-resistant. It can be processed into various shapes by deep draw, pulling, and extrusion.

The strength of tantalum alloy sheets is comparable to low carbon steel. They are also very resistant to high temperatures. Therefore, they can be used in heat treatment furnaces. However, they should be operated in an inert gas protection state.

Tantalum sheet is resistant to alkaline solutions and acidic solutions containing fluoride ions. Sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide will attack the metal.

The melting point of tantalum is 2996 degrees C. In addition, it is highly malleable, and can be processed by rolling or bending.

A typical tantalum sheet has a thickness of 0.012 inches to 1 inch. There are also several different types of sheets, ranging in thickness from 0.1 inches to 2.5 inches.

The color of tantalum is a steel grey with blue and purple touches. It has excellent corrosion resistance, and its ability to form a protective oxide layer is remarkable.

A high purity vacuum evaporative tantalum manufacturer can produce sheets, plates, and other materials. Most items meet Military Specification requirements.
