Tellurium has a wide range of uses in the metallurgy of petroleum and chemical industries, electronic and aerospace and many other areas 1-21. The copper powder can replace this portion of tellurium. This slag can be called copper telluride.

Cuprous Telluride: The Prospect for Application

Cuprous Telluride semiconductor nancrystals are very versatile in their application in photovoltaics and photothermal therapies. They have excellent particle conductivity and thermoelectricity. The synthesis of telluride nanomaterials based on Cu2-xTe (Cu1.75Te and Cu7Te5) was successful using both the aqueous and oil phases. We studied the LSPR phenomenon in the infrared and analysed the process. Results showed that three telluride semiconductor nucrystals had different photothermal conversion characteristics. Cu2.xTe was found to be superior to Cu1.75TE, Cu7Te5, and Cu7Te5 Nanorods. Comparison of the three copper telluride nanocrystals used for film formation was made. The Cu7Te5 nanometer cube is capable of forming dense and uniform films.
