Nickel Boride Ni2B (along with other nickel Borides) can be made by heating sodium bihydride with powdered Nickel-Metal to 670°C in closed vessels. This will create a pressure of 3.4MPa. You can summarize the major reactions as follows

Nickel Boride Ni2B Pulverization :
By reacting nickel chloride NiCl2 to boron hydrogen, such as NaBH4, the catalyst for nickel boride is formed. This catalyst can be used to perform selective hydrogenation reactions, desulfurization reactions, hydrolysis reactions, reduction of nitro, and other functional group reductions.
Desulfurization can be performed using the NiCl2/NaBH4 reaction catalyst. This catalyst can be used for traditional desulfurization and can produce a better yield than that of Raney. It also has the advantage of being less flammable, strong alkalinity, and sensitive to humidity.
Additionally, the catalysis with nickel boride can be used to desulfurize thioamides as well as sulfides, and sulfides, in order to produce the appropriate hydrocarbons.
In the presence of nickel Boride, primary, secondary, or tertiary, aliphatic, nitro compounds, can be converted to amines.
This combination of NiCl2/NaBH4 can also be used to dehalogenate and hydrolyze many compounds, such as reducing many abromoketones and ketones and dibromo ketones and olefines and decreasing benzyl,allyl and propargyl ester to the appropriate alkanes.
