What’s magnesium oxide?

Magnesium Oxide Is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula of MgO. This is an oxide magnesium and an ionic substance. It’s a white solid at room temperature. It is found in nature as periclase, which is the raw material that allows magnesium to be smelted.

Magnesium oxide is highly resistant to fire and has insulation properties. Magnesium oxide can be made into crystals by burning it at temperatures above 1000°C. If it is heated to between 1500 and 2000degC it becomes burnt magnesia. Magnesium dioxide ceramics can be used for industries like thick film integrated circuits (THFIC), glass-ceramics and microwave media.

Magnesium oxide is concentrated in ceramics

1. For the preparation of molten ceramic particles high-purity magnesia, alumina, it is used with rare earth oxides together as a sintering agent to make silicon nitride Ceramics. The silica nitride ceramics can economically and efficiently manufacture complex forms such as seal rings, bearings or cutting tools.

2. Magnesia ceramic Core Preparation

Made magnesia clay core has a melting point of 1600 degrees. It does not react to the cast metal when exposed to high temperatures. If the core contains silicon, this will cause a lot of holes and pores in the casting’s surface. You can dissolve sticky sand in low acid. The process is quick and safe. It is possible to experience thermal cracking. The core’s size is extremely precise.

3. Partially stabilized zirconia ceramics are prepared by combining high-purity magnesium dioxide, yttriumoxid or rare Earth metal oxides as composite stabiliers. It can also be used in high-temperature engineering and advanced materials.
