Where is graphite powder useful? It’s used to make industrial catalysts and chemical fertilizer chemicals.
Graphite is a graphite-based lubricant that has high lubricity and resistance to high temperatures.
It is used to release powder metals and as an alloy material, lubricant for cable production and as a raw material in the manufacture of metallic materials.
It can be used for creating conductive dry mode, carbon film resistance and preparing conductive coat.
Fillers for rubber and plastics to enhance the performance of these materials.
The marking material of natural graphite is used in ordinary pencils and zinc-carbon batteries. It can also be used to mark motor brushes or other professional purposes.
An innovative application for nuclear-grade graphite are the ultra-high temperatures reactor (UHTR), as well as the next generation of nuclear power plants (NGNP).

What does graphite powder mean?
Graphite Powder is a form of graphite, but it’s only a powder. This retains all its primary and secondary properties.
Graphite, an allotrope carbon, is a form of graphite. It is opaque, grayish-black and transparent solid. It’s greasy, and it can pollute paper.
It has a hardness of 1-2. The vertical increase in impurities will make it 3-5. Specific gravity ranges from 1.9 to2.3. Its specific surface area concentration is between 1 and 20m2/g. Under the condition of oxygen isolation, its melting point is above 3000, so it is one of the most temperature-resistant minerals. It conducts electricity and heat.
Not easy to react chemically, has corrosion resistance. Graphite reacts with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide. Strong oxidants, such as potassium permanganate and concentrated nitric Acid can oxidize graphite.
Natural graphite is not pure, and often contains impurities, such as SiO2, P2O5, CaO or FeO. They often form quartz, pyrite or carbonate, and can also be found as other minerals. Water, asphalt, H2, CO2, CH4, N2 or other gases are all possible. The analysis of graphite requires that, along with the determination of the fixed carbon contents, volatile matter (ash) must be also determined simultaneously.

Is graphite dust toxic?
Extremely high levels of graphite exposure can lead to serious damage to your respiratory system. There have been documented cases of pulmonary fibrosis as well as pneumoconiosis. This is an occupational lung disease. Workers’ lung function and cardiovascular health will be also affected.

How can I substitute graphite powder for
While graphite is a great dry lubricant for aluminum, it can also corrosive when there may be moisture. Graphite is now easily replaced by molybdenum-dioxide MoS2 ().
